After entering into a partnership with Credit Union Network for Financial Literacy during the second quarter of 2016, Pima introduced the program to its members and the local community through a series of events featuring the beloved Berenstain Bears characters, story time, and financial literacy activities. Popularity increased with each event and the Credit Union is gearing up for a busy 2016-2017 school year.
Pima Financial Analyst Jeremy Norville is a liaison to CUNFL. He is thrilled about the welcoming reaction to the Credit Union and the Berenstain Bears:
“The response to our program has been amazing. YTD, we have opened as many youth accounts as we did in the entire 2014 year and could possibly outdo the last two years combined. And while the increase in our youth savings accounts is tremendous, the opportunity to educate our youth on financial literacy using the Save, Share, Spend, Earn concept is priceless. This program has been a blast to be a part of and I can’t wait to see it grow within Pima.”
