School Spirit Contest Engages Community

FMFCU Community Education Manager Tricia McAllister brings financial education and The Berenstain Bears’ Cubs to previous School Spirit Contest winners Edgewood Elementary School in the Ridley School District.

Chichester, Pa. School District’s Hilltop Elementary School has been awarded a special assembly featuring The Berenstain Bears Financial Literacy Program, courtesy of Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union (FMFCU).

Each year FMFCU invites schools in its field of membership to participate in an online School Spirit Contest. The school receiving the most votes gets a special visit by Brother and Sister Bear.

Hilltop Elementary corralled 50% more votes than their nearest competitor in the 2018 contest. Earlier in the school year, FMFCU educators presented The Berenstain Bears Financial Literacy Program to the Second Graders, followed by a field trip to Bear Country Credit Union in Broomall, Pa. During the first week of June, the entire student body will welcome Brother and Sister Bear at a school assembly that will include story time and activities that enforce the wise money management concept Save, Share, Spend, Earn.

Sister Bear is a hit at East Ward Elementary School in Downingtown, previous School Spirit Contest winners.

FMFCU’s School Spirit Contest opens in early spring. Be on the look out for your chance to vote in the 2019 contest at fmfcu.org, and send Brother & Sister Bear to your favorite elementary school.

Congratulations Hilltop Elementary!
